We are pleased to invite the people of Tromsø and visitors to the opening of the autumn exhibition Roughening the Surface. Join us for an evening of brand-new work by students at the Academy of Arts in Tromsø, with light refreshments and a performance program.
Roughening the Surface explores what can emerge when there is little time to settle, polish, or perfect. Working through improvisation, shortcuts, experimentation, and unexpected solutions, the exhibition embraces friction and unfinishedness as productive artistic strategies. Moving between the spontaneous and the calculated, the chaotic and the carefully considered, it asks what becomes possible when the smooth surface of things is disturbed.
The exhibition is part of Kulturnatta and will be open from 17:00 to 22:00.
